According to history: the settlers brought their culture and tradition with them from the shores of the United States of America, so they modeled the Liberian constitution, flag and many other ideas after those of the U.S. Great! This symbolism means that the colors and symbols of the flag convey the ideas/ambitions/values of our beloved Liberia. The 11 stripes symbolize the signatories of the Liberian Declaration of Independence and the red and white symbolize courage and moral excellence.
